Please Read This. I Wrote It Just For You. Yes, YOU!

One of the things I love most about blogging is that I get to create my own little kingdom. My kingdom is a stunning wonderland where people raise their own chickens, grow luscious, green gardens, create colorful, healthy, delicious dinners and raise happy, silly, clever little children.

This is not the first time I've tried to make myself queen. Just go with it.

This is not the first time I’ve tried to make myself queen. Just go with it.

Not everyone does those things, mind you! There are city dwellers here and fashionistas, single career-focused women and soldiers writing between deployments. There are wives who dote on their husbands and ex-husbands trying to sort out what went wrong.

There are families with an army of children, families with only one and families where the furry, four-legged kids out-number and out-rank the humans.

There are men and women who have visited my little kingdom from nearly every nation on Earth.  Here, there are democrats, republicans, socialists, monarchists, and at least one avowed anarchists.

There are Christians, Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, Pagans, Wiccans, atheists and agnostics in this place, but the diversity of the group that meets up here in my little world isn’t the point of this post.

The point is to say, “thank you,” To each and every one of you, for your kindness!

You come here and debate. You question my thoughts and answer my questions.  You offer support to one another and, daily, you bless and encourage me.

I have been privileged to host dialogue on everything from global climate change to changing diapers, from polar ice caps to eating ice cream, and, in all that… in more than 250 posts and several thousand comments, only TWO people have been truly nasty.  THAT, my friends, is a stat I am happy about!

If I have created a safe little corner of the universe where people of every conceivable walk of life can come to discuss and laugh and disagree and learn and grow and cry and laugh some more, then I count myself as wildly successful!

So THANK YOU, to every single one of you for being a part of my journey and for sharing your unique views. You make this endeavor so much fun!

THANK YOU to all who have been here from the beginning and to all those who have just joined the gang.

The heartiest THANK YOU of all to those who have taken the time to comment on and share their favorite posts.

I have a feeling things are only going to get better and better and I can’t wait to see what’s around the next corner!

  1. What a lovely post. It’s true isn’t? We connect with people from all corners of the earth, from all sorts of backgrounds that we probably would have had no other connection with, if it weren’t for blogging. What a fantastic opportunity. And thanks for acknowledging it x

    • It really does humble me. One of my favorite things to do is to see all the countries that people visit from and then find them on the map with my little girl. How else would I ever connect with someone from Botwana or Slovakia?!
